Church members and friends prepared and served dinner on June 27, 2022 to students enrolled in a Family Promise course called Keys to Good Tenancy. We have our first settled minister!

Reverend Debra Guthrie-Joyce was installed as the first settled minister of the Aiken Unitarian Universalist Christ on Saturday, May 28, 2022. The event took place at 1 p.m. at the Lessie Price Center, 841 Edgefield Avenue in Aiken.

The gathering included 11 Unitarian Universalist ministers from South Carolina, North Carolina and Georgia. Family and friends attended along with the congregation.… more

Souper Bowl 2022

Our first event since the beginning of Covid, Souper Bowl Sunday, was a Raven success.  Immediately after the service the men became Raiders of tables and chairs and tried not to Rams them too tight together. Mary C. was the head Charger of the kitchen and had all those marvelous soups lined up and labeled for selection.

AUUC COVID Update February 13, 2022

Dear Congregation,

The board is pleased to announce we are no longer requiring vaccination for in person attendance effective immediately. Masks are required at all times for everyone who is not speaking or singing at the podium. We will continue to provide zoom and streaming of church services so that anyone not comfortable being in person will still have an option to experience worship service.… more

Repairs and upgrades to our buildings are underway

New flooring lumber has been installed on the Annex porch, and a new service contract for Heat and A/C units in both buildings has been secured. Next, electrical upgrades in the Church offices will be completed. When all of this is finished, the Buildings and Grounds Committee will begin thinking about new paint for the Church sanctuary. Rev. Debra Granted Final Full Fellowship

In February 2022 the Ministers Fellowship Committee of the Unitarian Universalist Association granted final full fellowship to the Reverend Debra Guthrie. This means that Rev. Debra is now considered a fully vetted minister in the Unitarian Universalist tradition, thus ending the traditional probationary period for new ministers.
