Nichiren Buddhism is a branch of Mahayana Buddhism based on the
teachings of the 13th-century Japanese monk, Nichiren. It emphasizes the
importance of the Lotus Sutra and the practice of chanting the phrase “Namu
Myōhō Renge Kyō”.
