The purpose of our Healthy Communities Campaign is to teach residents of neighborhoods adversely affected by their proximity to hazardous waste facilties, ways to influence the creation of policies that lead to better outcomes for their families. This rally will be our campaign kick-off.
We have invited our leadership team to provide an overview of the Sierra Club’s recent achievements. We will also introduce our national EJ coordinator, Virginia Sanders to speak. We hope to have a speaker from the Savannah River Site’s Citizens’ Advisory Board. In addition, we will demonstrate how ESRI’s Story Map tool can help a community tell its story, build consensus regarding its priorities and engage with policy-makers, funding organizations and potential partners to achieve measurable objectives.
