AUUC COVID-19 Update 3-16-20

Dear AUUC members and friends,

Because of the health risks posed by COVID-19, the AUUC Board has decided to cancel worship services and Children’s Religious Education classes for the next two weeks (March 22 and 29). In making this difficult decision the Board considered the advice of the UUA and US public health officials. The Board will monitor the situation and reassess the situation in two weeks.

Committees will make decisions about holding meetings, classes, programs and other activities on a case-by-case basis. If your group decides to meet in the church building, please use disinfectant wipes to clean tables, door handles, light switches, etc. before and after your meeting.

If you would like to participate in online UU worship, the Church of the Larger Fellowship (CLF), a UU congregation that operates largely online, offers an interactive, real-time video worship service every Sunday evening at 8pm Eastern Time. To participate on your computer, you will need to download the Zoom app. Visit the CLF website at https:// www.questformeaning.org/worship/ for information and links to download Zoom.

So that we may stay in touch without touching, we will rely heavily on virtual interactions: email, telephone calls, and possibly small meetings. We may be able to use Zoom for meetings and other virtual gatherings.

Stay tuned for more information. Stay safe. Stay well.

Blessings,

Rev. Deb and the AUUC Board
