This is the first year of blooming for the second generation Lily from the Garden of Gethsemane in Jerusalem. The first generation bulbs were grown from seeds brought back from the women’s monastery of St. Mary Magdalene located in the Garden of Gethsemane, Jerusalem. The monastery is under the jurisdiction of the Russian Orthodox Church Abroad. The Garden of Gethsemane is where it is believed Jesus was betrayed by Judas and taken by soldiers for trial.
